Senator and Mrs. [Fritz] Hollings both attended an event during one of his re-election campaigns.
Someone asked how their marriage had endured so well and so long in the scandalous Washington environment. Without pause, Senator Hollings responded, “It’s easy. We’re both in love with the same man.”
One of the best lines I have ever heard.
